Here are some comments from Villa Paramelle guests over the last couple of years:
Thank you for making our stay in Kalkan such an enjoyable one. Villa Paramelle was fantastic with the stunning views and so well positioned for the town and the beach. Great for eating out as so much to choose from but really liked an inexpensive new place, Cafe Ev opposite the market. Still warm in the day, cooler at night. Villa very comfortable with everything we needed, had a relaxing time there.
Sally, KL, Malaysia. October 2011We loved our stay at the villa. It was convenient to go visit different sites in such a short distance. The only negative point is the water of the swimming pool being so cold..colder than the sea..but I guess it must be refreshing during the hot season. Be sure we will talk about your villa to our friends. This is how we heard about it from friends here at Mont-Tremblant. Regards
Michele and Pierre, Canada. October 2011
N.B. I agree about the temperature of the pool - we were there just after you and it took awhile to get in! Pools aren't heated in Kalkan, as it's not usually necessary. Being the end of the season October can be hot or cold, but I hope you braved it - it was lovely in the sun afterwards. This was the first time we'd been to Kalkan and we really enjoyed our stay. The people were so friendly (bus driver actually dropped us to the door), the beaches we visited fantastic and varied (some sandy, others pebbled), there is so much to see and do but a trip to the gorge is a must - riding the 'rapids' great fun. The villa was wonderful to stay in, lovely decor, very well-equiped, and the view amazing even from the pool! We had memorable meals at local cafes as well as the rooftop restaurants overlooking the sea. Loved the market and the shopping as well. Hamza sorted a small problem with the air-con very quickly, and was so friendly and helpful, as was the pool man Osman. Unfortunately we went before the pomegranates by the villa were ripe, but we did manage to pick some figs on the walk back. We also found two wild tortoises in front of villa, one a baby and have attached a picture for the website! We're hoping to come back to the villa next year - we loved this part of Turkey.
Ali, John, Beth, and Megan, Oxfordshire. August 2011
Loved the pool, sunning ourselves on the private terrace, or reading in the shade on the beanbags. Took a couple of boat trips - an evening BBQ cruise was great. Lots of shopping and bargaining too. People sooooo friendly. And the iced coffees and cocktails brilliant!!
Lia and Lizzie, Oxfordshire. July 2011
N.B. Hope to have a hammock up in the shade next year - watch this space. What a wonderful villa and a wonderful holiday we had! It was all perfect but what we looked forward to each day was the drink on the roof-terrace as the sun went down and the lights of Kalkan came on - so beautiful and peaceful. The sunrise from the bedroom awesome as well. We've stayed in Kalkan before and this is best position so far - quite and private but easy to walk into town (though we took a taxi back some evenings)! We enjoyed many restaurants and can particularly recommend Trio - for food and friendly service; and the new Cafe Aqua just near the villa a good recommendation - for inexpensive meals and drinks, and connecting to wifi for that quick check of emails. Still love Kalkan, will be coming again, thank you.
McAndrews, Cheshire. May 2011
N.B. Yes, we loved Cafe Aqua as well. Yusuf and Tasin are very welcoming, the food fresh and reasonably priced, and so close to villa for a great Turkish breakfast! We returned from Kalkan yesterday and thought you would appreciate some feedback. We had a fantastic week, we thought the villa was beautiful and the view was stunning. The locals were so friendly that at first we were a little suspicious but we soon learnt that their friendship was genuine. We had some lovely meals out and a few evenings were spent at the villa as we felt you couldn’t get a better view than the one we had there! You probably know that there was a problem with the sink leaking, but it was resolved within hours after contacting Hamza. All in all, we really enjoyed our first visit to Turkey despite the rain, thunderstorms and frequent power cuts! We would certainly like to make a return visit so watch this space……….
Barbara, Atherstone. September 2010The villa was beautiful, it was the first time we have been that high up in Kalkan and the views were breathtaking. The villa was very private, not at all over looked and the location very peaceful. We found the villa to be spacious, well equipped and very comfortable - we had wonderfully relaxing holiday that flew by!
Georgie, Leighton Buzzard. September 2010
We found that your villa lived up to our high expectations and was indeed beautifully and tastefully furnished. I particularly enjoyed the extra large comfortable bed! The views were fantastic from the bedrooms, living area and of course the terrace. It was great to have the pool and terrace maintained on a daily basis so it was always clean and the perfect temperature. We found it was worth having a hire car to visit the beach clubs, restaurants and to go on lovely excursions. Many thanks!
Angela, London. August 2010We loved the villa, it was in a good position with views over both bays, and walkable to town although a taxi back is recommended! The view from the pool was the best feature, and the villa was lovely and spacious. We love Kalkan too, it was our second trip, we stayed at a villa higher up near hill last time and yours was definitely in a better position. We hope to go back again next year and if we do we'll look to book Paramelle again.
Amanda, Thatcham. July 2010We had a great time. The villa was fab and the views spectacular. As always Kalkan was fantastic - one of our favourite places.
Lesley, Falkirk. July 2010Had a great time, sadly cloudy weather for first few days which was a shame but latter part of week was wonderful. Villa was great, really spacious and well equipped. As a keen swimmer would have liked the pool to have been a bit bigger but it certainly served its purpose in the heat ! Have recomended to friends & we would certainly like to return too. Many thanks.
Kay, Nottingham. June 2010We had a super time in your lovely villa. Views absolutely stunning. Will possibly like to book again for next year. One minor comment, a second sun umbrella on terrace would have been great.
David, Lancing. May 2010
N.B. There is now (May 2011) a very large second umbrella that covers the terrace, and part of the pool if needed! We had a great time thank you. The villa was really lovely.
Mike, Arlington USA. September 2009We had a great time. The villa was of a much higher standard than what we have experienced using some well known companies covering other Mediterranean countries. All the feedback on your website was well deserved and set the correct expectations. The only very minor point I can think of bringing to your attention is that when arriving after dark from the airport it was not easy to identify the villa as the name plate is only visible if you climb the stairs. However I can think of reasons why you may not want to have it so obvious to all and sundry. Also I understand that most people seem to use the transfer service in any case. I will certainly recommend your villa to any friends I have who may be interested in visiting Kalkan. This was our second time in Kalkan, the last being 6 years ago ....it must be at least 3 times the size it was then!
Allan, Gordon. September 2009Your villa is wonderful and suited us perfectly - the pool was well used and we enjoyed many happy sundowners on the roof terrace. We also thought Kalkan was lovely – last year we went to a 5* resort in the Caribbean but we all agreed we actually had a better time this year in Kalkan! We rarely go back to the same place twice but we would consider perhaps a May or October half term break at some time in the future as we’d like to explore the area a bit more when the heat is not so intense. Anyway I will definitely be recommending Villa Paramelle and Kalkan to our friends and relations.
Carole, Luton. August 2009Have just returned from your lovely villa. We had a fantastic time, Kalkan as beautiful as always and your villa was one of the best we have stayed in, it was such a treat to be along the Kalamar Road on the flat!! for a change. Your villa is beautifully laid out and very well equipped, it has the most impressive uninterrupted views from all rooms including from the kitchen sink! The pool whilst not huge merges into panoramic sea views which are priceless. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely and the pictures on the website probably do not do them justice. Thank you for all your prompt confirmations and as always the taxi transfers were perfect. We will be back.
Debbie, Bristol. July 2009We had a fabulous time in Kalkan, it’s a beautiful town, and we fell in love with it! The food is gorgeous and the locals are all so friendly. It was very easy to find our way around, and Kaputas Beach… wow! The villa is lovely; it has now set the precedent for future holidays! It’s a great size and the rooms are bright and were very clean. The much needed pool was delightful. The view from it was magnificent – I have so many “view” pictures! I loved everything about it and have been singing praises about the Villa and Kalkan since we’ve been home! We took various trips, Fethiye Market, Canoeing etc and had a Turkish Bath. Everything in Kalkan is very easy to organise we didn’t feel that we needed a car in the end. Thank you for everything, the use of your Villa, the transfers etc everything was excellent.
Natalie, Norwich. June 2009Just a quick e-mail to let you know that we absolutely LOVE the villa and are having a wonderful holiday.
Peter, Canada. May 2009The villa was fantastic, so much so that I don't think that the photos really do it justice. You could definitely take some new ones, especially of the view! We had one or two problems with the electricity but these were sorted pretty quickly. We found the villa to be clean and tidy, the decoration and furniture was beautiful and the pool was excellent. The weather was really hot and we had a really great time. The only constructive criticism I can think of, and it's not really a big thing, is that in the information booklet that is provided it would be very helpful indeed to have a small map of the town. The reason I say this is that we couldn't actually find the market! We instead got our fruit and veg from a green-grocer type place which was nice but quite expensive. Other than that, it was brilliant.
Oliver, London. August 2008
N.B. Map now in Information booklet. Thanks very much for letting us rent your villa. It was absolutely fantastic and met all of our requirements for a wonderful holiday. We have been visiting Kalkan for 15+ years and really appreciate the location of the villa with amazing views of both Kalkan bay and Kalamar bay.
Stephanie, Warrington. July 2008We have had a really lovely holiday, the villa was all we hoped for and more besides, ideal for four people, views fantastic with the pool overlooking both bays. We hired a car and explored the surrounding areas as far as Olu Deniz, Fethiye and Kas & Kekova but we stilled enjoyed getting back to Kalkan, which is quite unspoilt. Being four old codgers we were happy to sit on the terrace at night having a few drinks taking in the view or walking into town, having a meal and drinks, then taking a taxi back home.
Sylvia, Sheffield. June 2008We absolutely loved the villa and would recommend it to everyone. The location was quiet, the facilities were fabulous and the pool man was really friendly and sweet. Thank you once again and we will certainly book again in the future.
Anna, Hull. June 2008We really enjoyed our stay in Kalkan and loved the villa, it was really well equipped, very comfortable with beautiful views. We'll definitely be coming back.
Helen, Liverpool. May 2008We had a great time. After a week of good sailing & some quite strong winds we came to Kalkan. Lovely spot and very interesting inland too. The villa was great and we found it very well furnished and well equipped. Lovely pool and very well looked after. Great restaurants nearby, in fact we were very impressed overall by the food in Turkey. Lots of places to visit, we particularly liked the ancient part of Patara. It was a lovely time of year to come to Turkey, not too many people and not too hot!! Once again, great !! Highly recommended.
Roger, Swanage. May 2008We had a truly fab holiday - mostly because we stayed in your gorgeous villa (we're spoilt now where ever we stay in the future we will be comparing it to Villa P) . In fact we hardly left the villa the first week except to go out for our evening meal - we were all quite happy to hang around the pool and patio taking in the stupendous view!! The transfer from the airport was excellent and efficient. We have been telling everyone about the villa - so you never know you may have some more guests from North Wales.
Glenda, Mold. September 2007What can we say? – we all had such a fantastic time!!! The villa was superb, we were “gob smacked” by the views when we woke up on the Friday morning – we just couldn’t believe our luck. The whole time we were there, we just couldn’t get used to seeing so much all the time – it was stunning!!! The villa itself was immaculate, well furnished and equipped and very clean and tidy. We loved the fact that we had our own infinity pool – such a big bonus for cooling off and messing around – the chap who looked after the pool was lovely too!!! It was our first trip to Kalkan (our friends had been once before) and I have to say, we have fallen in love with the place and the people. So many restaurants to choose from as well - the food we had was excellent every time.
Sheila, Bideford. September 2007Thank you so much for our lovely week at your villa. The villa was exactly as described, nothing was hidden and lots of lovely extras were provided. It was so refreshing to really feel as though every care had been taken to make sure that we had the nicest time. I could go on forever about how wonderful it was but sometimes I think that more can be said by saying less. It was perfect.
Michelle, Castleford. August 2007Yeah we had a fantastic holiday thanks & would definitely recommend the Vvlla to others. The villa itself was situated ideally for us - just close enough to town for a brisk 10 minute walk yet far enough away to sample the fantastic panoramic views of both harbours. Wouldn't recommend to people with walking difficulties however as some of those hills can be killers after 6 or 7 Efes!!! The apartment itself was beautifully furnished to a very high spec & suits 2 adult couples perfectly. Waking up to those views in the morning meant it was hard to drag yourself out of bed sometimes!! The private pool is just the icing on the cake as well, it was fantastic!
Ashley, Sheffield. August 2007Many thanks. We had a wonderful time in Turkey (Istanbul, Ephesus, Pammukale, Anatalya), and particularly our 2 weeks in Kalkan. The villa and its location were just perfect. We spent most days just lazing around the villa, taking advantage of the infinity pool and enjoying the beautiful view. The villa was exceptionally clean and ideally suited to our requirements.
Geraldine, Paris. July 2007What a fantastic week! Thank goodness for the pool as it was so hot it was great just to be able to dip in and out all day long. The views are amazing from the terrace, and the villa was very spacious, clean and tidy. Will definitely be making a return trip next year.
Sally, Stratford. June 2007We had a fantastic time and I think having the villa made the difference. We have previously stayed in hotel rooms. Being all together this time in such comfortable surroundings was wonderful. The villa not only met our expectations; it exceeded them. It looked lovely on your web-site but we had been bracing ourselves for the reality to be not quite as good. Everything was just as you described and in pristine condition - even the little touches like side lamps. And the view was to die for; so much so that we slept each night with all curtains open so that we could see the sea from all angles each morning. Perfect! Breakfasts and early evening drinks each day on your terrace were similarly divine.
